Quick Tips to Ditch the Day-to-Day Overwhelm

Are you beginning to feel overwhelmed now that the new year has begun? In this episode of the Purpose Driven Mom Show, Cara shares strategies for maintaining productivity and avoiding overwhelm as the new year progresses.

Most of us have New Year’s resolutions and new goals that we want to work on. But, it can be overwhelming to stay on top of your daily tasks as well as work towards your goals. 

Cara provides some tips to use to get over the day-to-day overwhelm that many moms feel, especially when there are too many things on the plate. One of these tips is themed time blocking. What this does is allow you to focus on one type of task or area in your life and then move on to the next. 

Next, Cara shares the tip of having a nightly pre-planning session. Pre-planning at night allows you to sit down and focus on what you need to accomplish the next day. Make note of all the errands, grocery trips, appointments and after school events that you need to map out. 

Lastly, Cara delves into the importance of delegating tasks to other family members, especially if they are things that don’t require you to do them. As a tip to relieve stress and avoid that overwhelming feeling, go through your tasks and organize some into a list of what can be delegated out to others. Maybe ask your kids to make that doctor’s appointment or go through their closet and fill a bag with clothes to donate. Ask for help so you don’t burn out!
