How to Finally Get Started with Your Blog with Elizabeth Stapleton

A Purpose Driven Mom Podcast

Episode 396

Are you a mom who is interested in starting a blog? In this episode of the Purpose Driven Mom Show, Cara interviews Elizabeth Stapleton, a guest at the Purpose Driven Moms Summit, who shares her insights on blogging.

Elizabeth shares the best way to start a blog and how it can help those who run their own businesses. Blogs can be used for many things such as marketing a business or earning a passive income through display ads. Deciding how you want to structure a blog or what you want a blog to become can be a challenge. It is best to map out what you want your blog to look like and what it will generate for you. Are you creating a blog to make income or to use it as an outlet for your thoughts? It is important to determine this early on so you can plan accordingly.

Writing blogs can be intimidating, especially if you feel no one wants to read what you are creating. Elizabeth shares how imposter syndrome is such an issue in the blogging community. Some feel that there are too many people writing blogs on the same topic or that the way they write is not good enough. But, Elizabeth emphasizes that everyone’s voice and opinions are different and no one is going to write the same. Your perspective is unique and should be shared!

Consistency is key when writing blogs. It is so important to create a schedule for writing that works for you. Writing a blog needs to fit into your life just like anything else. Factor in everything that happens in your life and create a consistent schedule around it. If you can successfully plan ahead, that is a good way to ensure you are getting your thoughts published!
