Simple 12 Week Holiday Savings Plan

Simple 12 Week Holiday Savings Plan

The Easy Way to Create a Savings for Christmas Chart

Have you started thinking about your plan to not go into debt this holiday season?

If not, it’s time to start to create a savings plan for Christmas and a savings calendar is the best way to get started! I follow the cash system from Dave Ramsey and always do my best to have my money ready BEFORE Christmas comes and a money-saving chart is the best way to track your money!

This post may contain affiliate links which cost you nothing extra to use but help me fund this page. To read my full disclosure head on over here.

What is a savings plan?

Things like the holidays, birthdays or even trips you know about are NOT surprises. So why do we act so surprised with our finances when it comes up?

In a CreditDonkey.com survey, 37% of people said they use their credit cards during the holiday season! Are you one of them? Because I was!

I used to put everything on my credit card so that I could allow other people to have the ‘best Christmas ever” and got so stuck on the materialism and less on the meaning of the season.

Now, I’m not the grinch! My Love Language is gift giving and I LOVE to treat others when I can but, I refuse to go into debt over it.

One of my reasons for wanting to be debt free is so that I can give to others without feeling that guilt in the back of my mind.

You know the guilt… the one that says “man we have so much debt but I really want to buy this for my kids”…the one we don’t listen to because we want immediate gratification.

Creating a Weekly Savings Plan

To start, think about how much you’ll need and for what areas you want to save. You’ll want to determine how much you’ll need for gifts, cooking, events, etc.

I’ve created a budget savings chart that is perfect for our family when it comes to saving for gifts.

This year, I am going to challenge you to start your own savings chart and use a CASH ONLY system this year!

Now you might be saying, “Cara really?? Only $300!?!?”. YUP! There are a TON of ways to save money during the holidays and it’s up to YOU to set a budget that makes sense for you and your family.

We don’t go gift crazy over here and $300 is enough to get everything we need. I don’t know about you, but I’d rather NOT make anymore debt this season and sticking to a budget is the first step! AND if you start THIS WEEK, you’ll be on track!

Episode 29

Ditching Self Sabotage to Fully Love Life with Veronica Cisneros

Today’s episode is a conversation with Veronica Cisneros.

Veronica Cisneros is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, motivational speaker, and queen hostess of transformational women’s retreats. Through these retreats, Veronica helps women answer the question: “how did I lose me?” She lovingly calls out insecurities and doubts and teaches women to challenge them for what they are, a mythical assault to their true femininity.

When it comes to stepping outside of your comfort zone, Veronica is your best bet. Yet, she ensures that, by stepping out, women are able to experience true transformational change; uncovering the inner goddess and, let’s be honest, bad ass, they’ve always been. Veronica helps women truly become empowered and unapologetic’ through unique challenges and personalized coaching.

It comes as no surprise, then, that Veronica is also CEO (a.k.a queen hustler) of Empowered and Unapologetic; a hardcore ‘girl gang’ of women aggressively supporting each other on Facebook. Her focus is to continue to expand this community, filled with authentic women who know their worth and who are unapologetic about putting themselves first. Veronica’s true aspiration is to help multitudes of women learn how to let go of perfectionism and, instead, face their emotional wounds and insecurities.
